About Janice E. Pardue
Janice E. Pardue is an attorney, a mediator, a collaborative lawyer and arbitrator. She specializes in family law, and has been an Associate District Court (family) Judge in Texas. She is board certified in family law, and is currently active in many professional organizations. Ms. Pardue is a frequent speaker and author for the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the South Texas College of Law, the University of Houston Law Foundation and other continuing legal education providers. Janice E. Pardue was elected to serve as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Houston Bar Association 2005-2006.
Janice E. Pardue has devoted her professional life to the practice of family law, serving in both the private and public sector:
- Serving as an Associate Judge in Harris County Family Courts
- Being recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer by Law and Politics and Texas Monthly Magazines – 2004-2009
- Handling a diverse variety of family law matters at a premier family law firm in Houston
- Working to establish and enforce parent’s and children’s rights to a close and healthy relationship, while ensuring children’s rights to support and to access to both parents at the Harris County Domestic Relations Office
- Becoming board-certified in Family Law in 1988 by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (re-certified 1993, 1998, and 2003)
- Resuming private practice in 2000 to assist parties in navigating through the family law arena by her representation of clients in litigation, in the collaborative process, and in her work as a mediator and arbitrator
- Serving as the current Chair of the Family Law Section of the Houston Bar Association and as a founding Board Member of the Collaborative Law Section of the Houston Bar Association
- Serving as a frequent speaker and author for numerous Continuing Legal Education courses around the State of Texas
